ABSTRACT

Background: Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that can cause respiratory infections. A factor that has recently caused a great deal of anxiety is anxiety associated with the coronavirus. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of anxiety among medical personnel exposed to the new coronavirus pandemic. Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional research was conducted on 210 medical personnel working in hospitals and health centers in Tasikmalaya, Indonesia. Medical personnel, who were exposed to or not exposed to this disease, were included in the study through census sampling in 2021. The data collection tools used include a demographic information questionnaire and the Corona disease anxiety scale (CDAS). Data analysis was performed using ANCOVA in Excel software. Results: The mean score of anxiety of the medical personnel during the new coronavirus pandemic in Tasikmalaya was 30.02%. Furthermore, in the medical personnel, the mean score of mental symptoms (47.22%) was higher than physical symptoms (13.15%). The anxiety, and psychological, and physical symptoms scores for women was higher than for men personnel, and there was a significant difference between them (P ˂ 0.05). The demographic variables of gender (P = 0.001), work experience (P = 0.023), and number of family members (P = 0.004) had a statistically significant relationship with anxiety (P < 0.05). Conclusion: According to the results of the study, the level of anxiety among female personnel was higher than male personnel. As a result, holding training classes and stress management courses among all personnel, especially female personnel, should be considered. © 2023, Vesnu Publications. All rights reserved.

ABSTRACT

This paper sought to explore school leadership practices, the management of school partnerships with the industry, and the challenges faced in implementing partnerships during the COVID-19 pandemic. Embracing an exploratory research design including a sequential model, the present research involved 89 principals, vice principals, and productive teachers from government-funded secondary schools who directly engage in the management of school partnerships with the industry. Findings reveal that school leadership practices implemented a participatory approach. School management was employed to optimize the role of vice principals, program heads, and productive teachers. The challenge of establishing partnerships during the COVID-19 pandemic lies in implementing an independent learning policy assisted by information and communication technology. © 2022 International Journal of Health Sciences.

ABSTRACT

The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of mindfulness intervention based on stress reduction in psychological distress and self-efficacy of health industry staff in Russia in 2021 during the COVID-19 pandemic. The statistical population included 600 physicians and nurses working in COVID-19 wards of hospitals in Moscow. Data were collected using standard questionnaires. Data analysis was performed in SPSS. According to the results, mindfulness intervention based on stress reduction improved psychological distress and self-efficacy in nurses of the test group, compared to the control group, during the COVID-19 pandemic (P < 0.05). According to the results, mindfulness treatment based on stress reduction reduced three components of psychological distress, stress (F = 24.03, effect size = 0.78, P < 0.001), anxiety (F = 32.12, effect size = 0.69, P = 0.001), and depression (F = 22.31, effect size = 0.72, P = 0.001) while increasing self-efficacy (F = 44.52, effect size = 0.84, P = 0.001). ABSTRACT

During the transition to the mixed education model during the Covid-19 pandemic, some issues have emerged in the matter of providing and supporting the quality of university education in all countries, including educational programs' relevance to the demands of the labor market, expectations of students and their families, digital transformation of the educational process, and economic stability of institution networks. The purpose of the research was to evaluate the quality of educational services in the higher education systems of Indonesia and Russia. The study systematized several essential factors for achieving educational service quality in the current higher education systems, given the limitations imposed by Covid-19. Following this objective, the study utilized a quantitative approach, adopting the SERVQUAL model that measures the service quality across five service dimensions: Tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. The model aided the development of the questionnaire to assess the quality of the educational services of Indonesian and Russian universities. The questionnaire included 25 close-ended questions on two scales: One to measure the students' expectations regarding the quality of educational services and the other to measure the students' current perceptions. A snowball technique was used to recruit students from Indonesian and Russian universities as participants in the study. The students were asked to assess the educational services of their universities based on their initial expectations and current perceptions. Overall, the students of both countries revealed that they had high expectations from the educational services of their universities. However, the current perceptions of the Russian students regarding the quality of educational services provided by their universities are higher and more positive than the perceptions of the Indonesian students regarding the quality of educational services being delivered to them. The findings of the study have implications for education practitioners. © 2022 by the authors.
